Set of two volumes published on the occasion of 'East Meets West—Wu Guanzhong's Art Retrospective Exhibition' at Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou. It was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Zhejiang Provincial Government and opened in November 2010. The unprecedented exhibition brings together more than 350 works donated by Wu Guanzhong to public art institutions at home and abroad, including the National Art Museum of China, Singapore Art Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Palace Museum, Beijing Luxun Museum and Zhejiang Art Museum. The works on display were created from 1954 to 2010, covering much of the artist's 70-year career. The present publication, edited by Zhejiang Art Museum, features full-page colour reproductions accompanied by reprinted excerpts from writings by the artist. Artist's chronology included.
