Meant to be a biannual event, the Month of Photography was first introduced in Paris in 1980, with the aim to present works by international artists expressing themselves through photography. The concept was brought to Thailand in 2001 by Philippe Laleu, Director of Alliance Francaise International Art Centre, Bangkok. The "Month of Photography 2" exhibition is traveling throughout Asia with stopovers in Bangkok, Seoul and Singapore, under the theme of "Pop Culture". In Bangkok, the event is divided into two parts. One is the exhibition curated by Agnes de Gouvion-Saint-Cyr displaying artworks by French artists at Tadu Contemporary Art. The second part features works by local and foreign artists at ten other venues in Bangkok.
