Gau Doy Lum
, an 'action conceptual impromptu performance' initiated by Frog King. The 4-day event took place at the McAulay Studio in the Hong Kong Arts Centre on the 8th, 18th -19th, 24th February, 1980, just before Frog King left for New York. The program comprised live performance and auctions of the artist's works, various experimentations of plastic bags were also undertaken with the audience participation.

The concept of 'Gau Doy Lum' (膠袋臨/Plastic Bag Happening) derives from 'Hark Bun Lum' (客賓臨/Happening). 'Hark Bun Lum' is considered a specific notion Frog King applies when he does performance; meaning 'live performance as it happens'. With the phonetic translation in Chinese 客賓臨, the term also implies that the work can only be activated by his guests/visitors, thus making the audience an important catalyst in the process of creation.
