Founded in 1998, Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SSAS) is a not-for-profit art space in Bandung, Indonesia. The present publication documents the various activities and achievement of SSAS from its beginning to 2008. With SSAS as an example, the book also presents the picture of the situation of Indonesia's art and culture in general, such as the meaning of art space and public space, the relationship between Indonesian artists and art market, and the work mechanisms of exhibition curating. Writers' and editors' biographies are included.
