Charm Exercise

Excerpt from Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, The Macao Museum of Art, Macau S.A.R., 2012, p. 126: 'This performance art has a series of actions, namely behaviour a, b, and c, and is presented in the form of video. I got the inspiration from the portraits and music videos of beautiful women. I then started to wonder: for the actress who turned around with a smile to the camera, did she ever practice before? Is it natural for her to bite her lips a little bit? All these questions motivated me to perform this art work. Can this kind of practice really bring forth an effective charm?'

The address of the artist's studio where the performance took place is No. 11, Xinbao Street, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China.
