This catalogue accompanies the joint exhibition of Choi Young-Lim and Munakata Shiko organised by the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea and Aomori Museum of Art in 2008. Known primarily for paintings with nationalistic and folk themes, Korean-born Choi Young-lim (1916-1985) was deeply influenced by the woodblock prints of Japanese printmaker Munakata Shiko (1903-1975).
