Since its opening at the Secession of Vienna, Cities on the Move has been undergoing continuous change; it has evolved in form and content as it toured to various locations in Europe, Americas and Asia. The focuses of the exhibition have responded to developments that have emerged and are currently under way in Asia. The Asian economic crisis was introduced into the discourse, and many of the themes on show have gained topical political import. New artists have continually been invited to participate, and in particular the role of architecture in the exhibition as a whole has deepened during the touring of the exhibition.

The present box-set includes a catalogue and postcards featuring works by participating artists. Artists' biographies are provided.

N.B. Please note that only artists of Asian descent are listed in 'Artists'. Groups and architectural firms based in Asia: Wong & Ouyang (Hong Kong), Ushida/ Findlay (London), Toyo Ito & Associates, Edge (Hong Kong)
