Dissipation

Excerpt from Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, The Macao Museum of Art, Macau S.A.R., 2012, p. 94: 'The construction of high-rise buildings has become a symbol for development in China. Yet such a destructive way of expressing desire goes against humanity and nature. The mini tower in Shanghai (Shanghai World Finance Center) is a symbol of the city. I employed the shape of this building to make a wax candle that can be burned completely. It is a huge parody of human desire.'

The performance took place in Shanghai, China.
