The Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan has dispatched young Japanese artists abroad to give them opportunities to study outside Japan since 1967. This dispatching system currently covers various forms of art, such as visual art, music, dance, drama, movie, and theatrical design, as well as art management.
Domani has been held annually since 1998 to present the accomplishments of those dispatched artists. DOMANI: The Art of Tomorrow 2012 exhibition showcases works by 8 artists who went abroad recently and have not previously been featured. Commemorating the 45th anniversary of the program, the exhibition also showcased works by 53 artists who were among those who have studied abroad over the past 45 years. The catalogue includes brief interviews with the 8 artists. Artists' biographies are also included.
