The works printed in this book were presented as part of Heryun Kim's solo exhibition Volcano at the Michael Schultz Gallery Seoul from April 1 to 30, 2009. Her volcano series of 2009 is comprised of 300 paintings, all oil on canvas, all 16 by 22 cm. The volcano Heryun Kim refers to is Mt. Halla, a dormant volcano that is the main feature of Jeju Island in Korea.
