This book is published in conjunction with the exhibition entitled 'Manifestations: Indian Art in the 20th Century' held at World Trade Centre, Mumbai, and Delhi Art Gallery, New Delhi, from November to December 2003. The exhibition, starting from this year, is an bi-annual event to showcase part of Delhi Art Gallery's collection.
The present exhibition shows work of 75 artists from the DAG collection, focusing on 20th century Indian art. The work is broadly grouped into six categories including Portraiture, Figure/Narration, Social Realism, Naturescapes, Cityscapes and Non-representational art.
