This catalogue is published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same title held at ifa Gallery Stuttgart and Berlin in 2009. As part of the 'On stage:nature' series which addresses nature as a counter-concept to city, the exhibition features artists from the Asia-Pacific region who analyse artificial paradises — visions that engage with and unmask our everlasting desire for the Garden of Eden — in the form of temporary substitutes and virtual worlds offering possibilities for escape of all kinds. The six artists are from Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. Artists' biographies are included.
