This is the catalogue of Qiu Shihua’s solo exhibition at Galerie Rudolfinum in Prague. Qiu’s mode of expression in his landscapes has been described as ‘painting at the edge of visibility’. The three accompanying essays in the present catalogue study this unique characteristic of the art of Qiu through an examination of the nature of Dao and the history of Chinese landscape painting, both of which have exerted influence in the artistic development of Qiu Shihua. A brief biography of the artist is included.
