This book is published in conjunction with the exhibition 'Tags & Treats: Works by Vincent Leow' at the Singapore Art Museum between August and October 2010. Since emerging on the Singapore art scene in the 1980s, Vincent Leow has developed a prolific and alternative art practice rooted in debates over the contemporary Singapore identity, working in a wide range of genres including painting, sculpture, installation and performance. He was one of the early members of the seminal art collective The Artists Village and later co-founded the artist-run space Plastique Kinetic Worms. This book documents his career through close analysis of significant periods in his life as well as personal responses from artists, curators and art historians on his key works. Artist CV and bibliography included.
