Catalogue of joint exhibition held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Handover of Hong Kong. Featured in the exhibition are works by nineteen artists who explore the theme of 'time'. Johnson Chang wrote, 'For the time we live by - historical to mechanical, Hong Kong art has interesting representations. The obsession with time seems in-built to the Hong Kong spriit. One sees this obsession whether in crossing the street or in the jostling among shoppers. The compression of time and space into urban experience is blocking our long-term perspective. Living in this city one always feels pressed for 'time'. This is perhaps the significance of the Handover, that history is again opened up for public participation; and the future is no longer an abstract line on the horizon, but is being propelled by the past towards a time after time.' Artist biographies are provided in the catalogue.
