The present catalogue features The SHER-GIL Archive, an exhibition of pictures, documents and objects of the Sher-Gil family in the form of an alternative museum. The archive preserves the creator Vivan Sundaram's personal and family history. Each of the family member offered diverse examples of life and death: a meditation over existence; the charging of life with passion or, radically putting an end to it. And this has drawn the artist to a reflection on mortality. Artist biography is provided.
