Published on the occasion of the exhibition 'Ai Weiwei: Sunflower Seeds', the eleventh annual commission in the Unilever Series at Tate Modern, London, from 12 October 2010 to 2 May 2011, this book documents the production process and installation of the work Sunflower Seeds. Millions of sunflower seeds made out of porcelain, each individually shaped, fired and hand-painted, fill the vast post-industrial space of Tate Modern's Turbine Hall. Essays by a selection of international curators and critics, an interview with the artist, selected quotes from the artist's Twitter posts, and artist biography are included.
