This is a research project conducted by the 2009 AAA Research Grantee Vidya Shivadas, Delhi-based curator and art critic, focusing on five important Indian writers and critics, including William George Archer, Richard Bartholomew, Jagdish Swaminathan, Geeta Kapur, and Ranjit Hoskote. Each played an important role in shaping contemporary art discourse in India, and in registering multiple cultural issues, artistic domains, and moments of history.
