This catalogue accompanies the titled exhibition held at Rossi & Rossi, London from June to July 2009. In his preface, Fabio Rossi writes, 'It is a seldom seen feminist South Asian show and includes the work of thirteen South Asian women artists, the majority of whom were born or live in the UK or US. Their work occupies a complex position rooted in familiar urban aesthetics whilst at the same time referencing multiple visual traditions. Arriving from disparate points of origin, the work represented in this exhibition is representational, and examines the intersections of human nature, human interaction with nature, and science fiction.'
Includes excerpt from dialogue between Elaine W. Ng and Jaishri Abichandani, and an essay by Shaheen Merali. Artist, curator, and author biographies are provided.
