'From Craft to Art' is a 3-year-project in Myanmar which started in six regions: Paung (Mon State), Tee Tain and Kalay (Chin State), Inle Lake (Shan State), Mandalay (Mandalay Division) and MyitKyiNa (Kachin State). The project intends to help Myanmar's artisans develop their creative process, to communicate their culture with art and to think about how to market their products. Regional workshops were conducted to facilitate discussion of topics such as design development, quality care production and business management. Further discussion on future networking between artisans, ways which the project can be recognized internationally, and plans for the next project phases were also held during the regional workshops.
The present report concludes the first phase of the project (July 2014 to March 2015).
