This catalogue is published on the occasion of Isa Lorenzo's solo exhibition at 20SQUARE, SLab, Makati City, Philippines, from November to December 2009. This body of work is the result of a two-month residency in Tokyo, during which the artist observed great tension between release and control in Japanese society. It drove her to create photograms using multiple layers of flyers and other printed materials, as well as experimenting with micro-explosives to add another dimension to some works.
