Artists Mai Yamashita and Naoto Kobayashi favour projects that require remarkable perseverance and deliberately "use time wastefully". Their actions, recorded in video and photographs, include Waiting for Sprouting, in which they devoted their full attention to a sprouting seed held in their hands for nine days; and Release of Mineral Water, which involved a journey to Germany to reunite a bottle of mineral water, bought in Tokyo, with its original source. These and more recent works, while opposing the social order governed by economic principles that equate time with money, also contain a strong ritual component. This catalogue includes the duo's works from 2002 to 2006. With biography.
