Catalogue of Manisha Parekh's solo exhibition at Sakshi Gallery in 2006. Manisha is a second generation artist, her parents, the leading artists Manu and Madhvi Parekh embody several of the impulses of the Indian modernists who came into prominence in the 1970's and 80's. For this exhibition, the artist presents works created by layering membraneous paper on board. As suggested by Gayatri Sinha, Manisha Parekh builds up 'several layers of paper that suggest the trapping of light and movement... A shifting heaving surface is created where the veil of translucent membrane only hints at the dark forces beneath.' Artist biography is included in the catalogue.
