A collection of Taiwanese photographer Chang Chao-Tang's works taken between 1959 and 2005, published to accompany an exhibition held at the National Central University, National Cheng Kung University, and Providence University.

'The photography of Chang Chao-Tang has been renowned for its sharp and forceful style, and his achievement is a milestone in the modern photography of Taiwan. Through photographing many real yet strange landscapes and objects, his works profoundly explore the absurdity and repression of human existence, and also offer the viewers moments of contemplation and reflection. This exhibition not only assembles the works most representative of his accomplishment, but unveils his photographs made in the high school years for the first time. The early photographs capture the daily life of small towns in a simple manner, yet reveals Chang’s remarkable ability to extract a distinct beauty from the pedestrian reality.
