Catalogue of solo exhibition by the 2008 Silverlens Foundation Completion Grant Awardee, Ringo Bunoan. Gina Osterloh writes, 'In Ringo Bunoan's solo exhibition "Pillow Talk", each work deliberately draws hard hitting metaphors with a sense of lightness - all from a singular material, the pillow. Through various media, each work situates pillows as an extension of the body - both present and absent. This paired down relation between content and form, poetics and material, is an eloquence that Bunoan delivers throughout all her works. Tackling overarching metaphors such as the perpetual gap between self and other, time, death, and language itself, Bunoan activates these through sculpture, installation and photography.' Artist biography is provided in the catalogue.
