Catalogue published on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of Tsuji Kako in 2006 and 2007. Born in Kyoto and known as one of the four great disciples of Bairei Kono along with Seiho Takeuchi, the Japanese-style painter Kako Tsuji (1871-1931) laid the foundation for the subsequent flourishing of the modern Kyoto School. This is the first large-scale retrospective after the posthumous exhibition, presenting 80 pieces of works spanning Kako's entire career. A chronology of the artist is provided in the catalogue.
