Summer Camp: Active Voice is for secondary six students who have recently received their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. It aims to encourage students to actively engage with art as a means of self-discovery.
The camp comprises a series of programmes planned and facilitated by both artists and university volunteers who, in sharing their knowledge and experiences, hope to bring out the distinctive voices of the participants. Working within a creative environment, participants will learn how to use art as an agent of inquiry and self-expression.
The camp is primarily led by a group of university volunteers from diverse academic backgrounds to raise a greater awareness of the influence of words, choices, and actions. Invited guest facilitators this year include artists South Ho, Wong Ka Ying, and Elvis Yip, who will present unique, experimental approaches to art that challenge existing perceptions of leadership and identity.

Overnight Camp | Tuesday–Wednesday, 2–3 June, 10am–6pm
Venue: Spring Workshop*, 3/F Remex Centre, 42 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong
Facilitators: South Ho, artist working with photography, Wong Ka Ying, artist using various media to express contemporary gender issues, and Elvis Yip, artist reflecting on the absurdist aspects of society through collages
Post-Camp | Monday, 8 June, 2–6pm
Venue: A Space, Asia Art Archive, 10/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Facilitator: Wilson Tang, a graphic and web designer, founded gardens&co. design studio in 2005. Recently, he co-founded Smiley Planet to advocate green urban living and co-developed Putyourself.in online event platform for everyone to organize their own events.

Eligibility:
Secondary six students with a passion for the arts and interest in making an impact on their community. A certificate will be given to participants at the end of the camp.

Applicants will be contacted individually for interviews that will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 20 – 21 May 2015. Successful applicants will be notified on Friday, 22 May 2015.
