Summer Camp: Art Challenge is a leadership training and team building workshop for recent secondary school graduates with a strong interest in the visual arts.

The programme will immerse participants in an environment of artistic stimulation and ideas, developing and challenging current perceptions of art and the world. Artists and designers will share their knowledge, skills, and the habits that they use in their practices, providing an opportunity for participants to think and solve problems creatively and encouraging them to use their distinctive visions and voices to inspire and empower others.

Venue: A Space, Asia Art Archive, 10/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

20 Jun Pre-Camp
20 Jun Pre-Camp

What is leadership? What is the relationship between leadership and art? How can you understand yourself through art? A team of university volunteers studying arts-related disciplines will organise icebreaking activities to stimulate and challenge our existing perceptions about art, leadership, and self.

Overnight Camp | Friday-Saturday, 20-21 June, 10am-6pm
Venue: Spring Workshop, 3/F Remex Centre, 42 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong
Facilitators: Michael LEUNG, designer, beekeeper & urban farmer, Morgan WONG, artist, and Trevor YEUNG, artist

How do you get in touch with your senses and capture the moment? Is it possible to withdraw attention from external objects and focus on internal dialogues? Is getting lost also a way to find yourself? Camp activities will encourage participants to observe, question, and reflect on the relationship between themselves and their surrounding environments.

Post-Camp* | Friday, 27 June 2014, 2-6pm
Venue: A Space, Asia Art Archive, 10/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
