Initiated by Hank Bull, at that time director of Western Front, an artist-run space in Vancouver, the exhibition involved a group of artists in Shanghai. It is the first International exhibition to show work by artists from abroad along with Chinese artists' works, which arrived to the show via Fax. Frank Bull took charge of promoting the exhibition through website of his art center, while local artists operated the venue and fax machine which received the artists' works.
展覽由卜漢克發起，他當時是位於溫哥華的藝術家運營空間──Western Front藝術中心的總監。來自上海的多位藝術家參加了展覽，這是首個將中國與外國藝術家作品共同展出的國際性展覽，作品通過傳真傳送。卜漢克負責通過藝術中心的網絡宣傳展覽，本地藝術家則負責管理展覽場地和通過機器接收作品。
