Hu Xiangqian adopts elements of Opera in The labor SongⅠNight, particularly in the exaggerated vocal and physical gestures of the actors in the video. Fitted in bespoke costumes made to resemble a grand version of the uniforms commonly seen on security guards of a typical upper-middle class apartment compound in China, the actors are crammed in a small security booth, delivering an operatic performance that appears to be ludicrous. The content of the “opera” revolves around the generic but popular theme of dreams and reality permeated with a sense of helplessness, but in the end the contradiction between one’s dream and reality get resolved.

這個作品我選擇是歌劇的形式，（雖然這個歌劇看起來是如此滑稽）。我和幾個演員穿著定做的漂亮的制服，在一個狹小保安亭里表演歌劇。歌劇的內容大概是人們的夢想與現實，帶著一些無奈，最後還是達成了共識。
