Catalogue of exhibition held at Middlesbrough Art Gallery in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, followed by a nationwide tour. The exhibition is a 'short but intense history of women artists at work in modern India' from the 1930s to the present. It features nine women artists, primarily painters, who use a variety of media to examine issues that affect contemporary art in India such as politics, the modern metropolis, myth, academicism, violence and female subjectivity.
