This is the documentation of the project and exhibition organised by and held at the Museum Schloss Moyland. The project began in 1998 when the Museum approached Tadashi Kawamata. It involves the building of a walk-on bridge which spans the moat between the first floor of the castle and the Neue Vorburg, where the exhibition hall is located. The bridge has long been a central concern of Kawamata's art. This time, the bridge not only provides a link between 2 buildings in the Museum's complex, it also brings about the contact between the art of Joseph Beuys and that of Tadashi Kawamata. This is because the Museum Schloss Moyland holds the world's largest Beuys collection and the Joseph Beuys Archives, and for the exhibition, Kawamata's archives is housed and exhibited in the Neue Vorburg. In the archives of Kawamata, besides drawings, models, films and photos of the artist's body of work, photo documentation of his work taken by Leo van der Kleiji (nearly 7000 pictures) is also included.

The present publication is divided into 2 sections. The first section focuses on the bridge, brings together photo documentation of the project at Museum Schloss Moyland. The second section is about the archives of Tadashi Kawamata; it puts togethers his past projects, with brief descriptions and images.

Artist biography and bibliography are provided.
