Since its founding in 2000, AAA has been at the forefront of documenting and redefining the recent histories of contemporary art in Asia. Through dynamic residencies, cutting-edge research, innovative educational programmes, thought-provoking publications, and transformative institutional collaborations, AAA has become the go-to site for art professionals, scholars, educators, artists, and more. With the most extensive and growing collection of materials on contemporary art from Asia, freely accessible online and in its onsite library, AAA serves as an invaluable resource for inspiration and knowledge.
AAA is seeking a Part-time Archive Assistant who is able to devote at least 2 to 3 days a week to join our Research Team for 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about preserving and organising art history while contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape.
The Archive Assistant will assist in managing and maintaining our extensive collection of archival materials, supporting research initiatives and helping in the digitisation process. Join us in our mission to enrich the understanding of art through meticulous research and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Support acquisition, arrangement, digitisation and description for AAA Research Collections and other archiving projects.
- Assist in the creation and revision of records on AAA’s collection management system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree or above. Qualifications in Archives Management and/or related disciplines such as Conservation and Library Science is an advantage.
- At least one year working experience or volunteering in museums, galleries, archives or cultural institutions.
- Have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail and enthusiasm for heritage preservation.
- Proficient in computer skills. Candidates with knowledge and a keen interest in digital archives are preferred.
- Have an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
- Must be eligible to work in Hong Kong.
