Ha collected and stored exhibition ephemera and catalogues, notably from the 1960s to 70s, in designated boxes. Ha acquired his first camera in the early 1980s. Since then, the artist documented over 1,500 local and overseas exhibitions until 2009, when he passed away. These exhibition records offer an invaluable perspective of Hong Kong exhibition histories, and trace the developments of the local art ecology. AAA organises the materials into ‘Exhibition Ephemera’ and ‘Exhibition Documentation’ in order to highlight the shift in Ha’s archival practice, as well as the resulting changes in the formal characteristics of the materials he collected.
