Contemporary French Tapestries — Exhibition Catalogue (Excerpt)

Catalogue cover of the Contemporary French Tapestries exhibition in 1973, presented by the Urban Council and the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society. The show presented a range of 28 tapestries dated from 1944 to 1965. The Peter Stuyvesant Foundation was founded in Amsterdam in 1943 by Mr Alex Orlow who was a renowned industrialist and art connoisseur in Europe. Besides tapestries, the foundation’s collection varied from Rodin and Michelangelo sculpture to British paintings which had been exhibited around the world.
