Portrait of Vu Dan Tan

Portrait of Vu Dan Tan by Hoang Lap Ngon on 8 May 1983. Hoang Lap Ngon (1910-2006) graduated from the Indochina Fine Arts School and was an artist who specialised in portraitures. His son Hoang Hong Cam (1959-2011), also a portrait artist, was a frequent visitor at Salon Natasha as his father.

The portrait belongs to a sketchbook which includes a series of impromptu portrait-sketches made by different artists in Vu Dan Tan's studio from 1983 to 1984. It features portraits of regular visitors to the studio, who were often Tan and Natasha Kraevskaia's acquaintances.

Most of the drawings from the sketchbook were produced by artists Dang Duong Bang, Do Phan, Hoang Lap Ngon, Hoang Hong Cam and Phan Thi Thu Ha.
