Interview with Ho Siukee by Leung Chiwo Warren

In the second interview, Ho Siukee says that he puts emphasis on the feeling and the process derived from sculpting the work on his own (00:00–06:38). Ho elaborates on a few pieces which he finds satisfactory, and the stories behind their creations (06:38–14:32). Towards the end of the interview, Ho talks about how teaching and practising art led to anxiety and stress (14:32–20:55). He thinks Hong Kong art has improved as the atmosphere, participation, and format for dialogue are better than before (20:56–25:20). While the positioning of Hong Kong art is inevitably influenced by local politics and identity, Ho reminds us that art practice should start from life itself. Ho also tells us what he thinks of contemporary Hong Kong works of art that tend to highlight the Hong Kong identity more than personal practice (20:56–39:24).
