6 channels, 12 screens (14 inches), video installation, no sound, 13-14 minutes, colour in DVD mode.
An original video is taken capturing the process of a blood sample being taken from a finger. The video is then processed into various visual effects by being put into slow motion, tinted in various colours with the contrast adjusted, and having the sound removed. The 6 video clips are played by 6 DVD players, and each player is connected to 2 14-inch screens displayed in pairs. The 12 screens are mounted on the wall closely next to each other without gaps to form a horizontal line 1.3-1.4m above the floor. Supporting frames, DVD players, wires, and signal transmitters etc. are placed without concealing under the screens.
Please refer to Artistic Working Manual of Zhang Peili, Lingnan Meishu Chubanshe, Guangzhou, 2008, p 158 for further information.
Video clips vary from 13 to 14 minutes long
