This is the English edition of the book The Story of "Art" in China: From Late Qing Dynasty to Present originally published in Chinese in 2010 by Peking University Press. It is a condensed version of A History of Art in 20th-Century China written by Lu Peng. It covers the art history of China from mid-19th century to the present. The present small-sized book, with much less words and images than the original long version, aims to provide a clearer historical framework to look at Chinese art history in the past 150 years in an easier-to-read way. Name index included.
