Produced in an edition of 200, this limited edition artwork is an important part of the project 'Another City/ Une autre ville'.
'Another City is an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration between Japan and Canada that takes the form of site-specific exhibitions and a publication addressing architecture, transfiguration of urban environment, and human condition. Masashi Ogura, a Japanese art critic and writer initiated the project in a creative collaboration with two artists, Yoshihiro Suda and Paul de Guzman to create a new art work in which the roles of the writer and the artists would be interwoven. Ogura provided a text, Toward Another City, as a point of departure and the artists responded with ideas, drawings and models, which in turn inspired changes to the writing. In this way, through correspondence, meetings, and the exchange of objects, the three collaborated to create a site specific installation.' (Excerpt from the leaflet)
