Growing up in a remote township in Sichuan province, Yao Yuan developed appreciation of nature's beauty at early age. Trained in traditional Chinese painting at Nanjing Normal University Art College, her paintings are inspired by nature, works of old masters, and sensitivity to internal emotions and spirituality. Includes essays by Zhu Zhu and Lu Peng. The artist's brief biography is also included.
