''Being a Queen' is a project which Kyungwoo Chun created while staying and working in Denmark [...]. For the project, Chun looked for people who believed they resembled the Queen in a way or the other. For the portraits, the applicants are all dressed in blue gala dress - clothes that look like what a queen might wear. Thereafter, they sat in front of the camera for duration of time that represented their age (i.e. one minute per one year of age). Moreover the photos have all been taken with long shutter speeds which creates a fogged and blurry photo. The long exposure time paves the way for a meditative interspace that gives the participants an opportunity to reflect on their own perceptions of the Queen and eventually on themselves and their “inner queen.”' - from website of the Museum of Photography, Seoul.
