Catalogue of solo exhibition by Trung Nguyen at Galerie Quynh in 2005. Featured in the exhibition are works from his latest series Blackboard. 'The faux-blackboards initially appear poetic, evoking memories of childhood - a period of imagination, dreams, hope and innocence. However, rather than allowing his viewers to fall deeply into nostalgia, Trung pulls us back into the modern world with paintings such as Blackboard I and IV. Geometric shapes and lines suggest modern science and technology, while the rhythmic, cascading texts receding into the distance ad infinitum resemble matrices and layers of data and code.' - excerpts from foreword by Quynh Pham. Artist biography is provided in the catalogue.
