Published to accompany the exhibition 'Drawn from Life' held at Abbot Hall Art Gallery in Kendal, United Kingdom from January to March 2011. The exhibition is part of a Green Cardamom project to assemble an international survey of drawing. It brings together works in Abbot Hall Art Gallery's collection, including those by celebrated British artists, and works by contemporary emerging and mid-career artists from diverse backgrounds. The selection of works reflects an expanded notion of drawing, one that is not limited to a particular medium. The exhibition is divided into the themes 'Body Politics', 'Tracing Landscape', 'The Everyday', and 'The Diary'.

List of works and artists' biographies are included.

Note: Only artists from Asia are listed below.
