This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition entitled 'Faces & Facts: Contemporary Korean Art in New York - Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Korean Cultural Service NY' held from December 2009 to January 2010. The exhibition features more than 50 Korean and Korean American artists who are currently based in New York and are actively engaged in the local and international art scenes.

The exhibition is divided into three parts and is accordingly housed in three venues. The 'Abstract' section which includes drawings, sculptures, paintings and mixed media is held at Gallery Korea. The 'Media, Media' section presents photography and video work and is held at the Queens Museum of Art. The third section 'Into the Life' includes artists whose subject matter or materials are taken from everyday life and is held at the Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Art Gallery.

Artist interviews, exhibition checklist and chronology of major art events of contemporary Korean artists in New York from 1979 to 2009 are included in the catalogue.
