Katie de Tilly of 10 Chancery Lane talks about Hong Kong's upcoming first major international contemporary art fair.  Contemporary Asian artists will be on view next to famous names such as Picasso, Damien Hirst and Francis Bacon at the Convention and Exhibition Center.  The advantage to buying at the art fair as opposed to the Christie's Asian contemporary art sale the following week is the avoidance of the 20% auction commission.  There is no sales tax in Hong Kong.  Among the hundreds of international galleries will be 12 Hong Kong Galleries, and a special Hong Kong artists' exhibition curated by Sabring Fung.  Talks hosted by AAA, museum tours led by Asia Society and various parties will take place during the week of  ART HK 08.
