The catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition, showcasing a selection of 63 artworks by 29 artists. The exhibition aimed to outline the contemporary Indian culture and social life through art and aestheticism for its Taiwanese audience. From the preface written by J.J.Shih, 'Indian art is very rich in tradition, and what is unusual is that innovative contemporary artists are also able to absorb essences of traditional arts and culture. They use these elements to create their own distinct marks internationally through original contemporary Indian art. This approach seems to resonate with many contemporary Taiwanese artists' dedication to fusing tradition with contemporary concepts. This correlation makes for even more noteworthy reference and interaction value between the two art worlds.' The catalogue includes essays written Ashok Vajpeyi, V. Sanjay Kumar, Pedro Tseng, and Maple Yu Chieh Lin, photographic reproductions of the artworks shown, and the artists' biographies.

印度，對許多台灣人而言，總像蒙了一層面紗般，是神秘而迷人的國度。直到近年來新聞媒體不斷地報導所謂「金磚四國」，我們對這個各方面都正積極躍上國際舞台的遙遠國度，開始有了一步步的了解，諸如：孟買居全球前五名的房地產價格、印度總體經濟的全球競爭力、寶萊塢娛樂電影的生產力、以及近年來風行寶島的瑜珈或靈修課程等等。二OO七年的全球金融風暴，明顯重挫了歐美及亞洲的當代藝術發展，但印度當代藝術卻隨著其社會經濟逆向操作的策略，而表現出一枝獨秀的氣勢；印度當代藝術家在全球各地受到的矚目愈來愈高，近年在台灣的一些大展中也屢見印度當代藝術作品，並因為具有特色而每每成為討論焦點。 印度是人類文明四大古國之一，擁有悠久的歷史和深厚的文化傳承，印度藝術的傳統能量非常豐沛，難得的是，強調突破創新的當代藝術家也很能夠吸收應用該國傳統藝術文化養分或元素，從而打造出在國際上自有特色的印度當代藝術，這和許多台灣當代藝術文化致力反芻傳統底蘊、融合當代思維，可謂異曲同工，也因此特具相當的參照意義與對話價值。而除了吸收傳統再造新境之外，印度當代藝術也可看出另一種路線就是，不忘針對自己國家社會的現實情境和特定議題──例如種性制度、貧富差距、政治議題等，去表達看法和想法，這一類旨在激發觀者反思或共鳴的作品，對多年來習於閱讀批判性作品的台灣民眾而言，想必也可以引發進一步的探討。 從藝術社會學的角度來看，藝術總是或顯或隱地反映了當下社會的特殊脈絡或根本結構，本展特選二十九組藝術家之63件作品，希望從藝術及美學的面向切入，以見證印度當代文化和社會生活的概括輪廓，進而體會其內在精神與外部形貌之間的離合辯證；在這同時，本展也希望藉由較完整的規劃，讓這些遠來的藝術佳作與當代館獨特的建築空間展開緊密的對話，也讓台灣觀眾深入感受印度當代藝術的多樣風情與特殊魅力，激撞出日後更多交流的火花。
