This is a catalogue printed on the occasion of the group exhibition Fusion Strength in 2001 and 2003, a collaboration between 13 artists from Singapore and 12 artists from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The exhibition is a month's long exploration of meaning and interpersonal perceptions through mutal discussion and dialogue. Collective ideas were displayed, the event challenged the boundaries and the limitations of traditional artmaking such as painting and sculpture.

This catalogue is a documentation of the project from scratch that contains project proposal, events listings, press coverage and reviews. Artists' curriculum vitae are included at the back.

Performance Art

The selected publications on this page present the varied ways artists, curators, and researchers experiment with performance. For some, performance is a way to defy the commodification of art, a physical intervention into dominant narratives, or an enactment that eludes state control. Performance may be a protest that takes place in the theatre, on the streets, in a café, or in a private setting. For others, it is experimentation with the form: a transformation, appropriation, or expansion of dance, theatre, and film.
