It is a catalogue of the dual exhibition of Japanese artists Tatsumo Toeko and Shibata Toshio held at the National Art Centre, Tokyo, in August to October 2012. Tatsuno's paintings are shaped and coloured so that they give a strong physical and visual presence, facilitated by its abstract compositions, while Shibata's monochrone photographs focusing on man-made geometric forms (such as dams and roads) envision an aesthetics of contradictions.

The current show exhibits approximately 100 works by Tatsuno and around 200 works by Shibata.

Include biographies of the artists, and separate select bibliographies for both of them.
