'In Transition: Contemporary Cambodian Artists' presents the work of fifteen young artists who graduated from the Reyum Art School in 2006. Upon graduation they were faced with leaving this secure environment and losing their community. To assist this transition, Reyum Institute offered them the opportunity to further explore their creative practice by establishing a Creative Lab where they were introduced to other contemporary art practices such as installations, video, and performance art.

The curatorial concept of the exhibition translates the students' evolutionary and organic learning process during their transition from the structured Art School to the experimental Creative Lab. Like the Creative Lab, the exhibition emphasizes process, as a learning experience, rather than an end-result. The artists were not given a common theme to respond to, instead they were given an environment where they could experiment with ideas and materials.

Images of works in the present catalogue are accompanied by individual texts. With introduction by Ly Daravuth.
